J. Steven Stewart practices in the Firm’s litigation section and possesses over 30 years of trial experience. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stewart was the head of litigation for the Houston office of a prominent national law firm. Mr. Stewart’s practice focuses on the following areas of law:

Representative Cases
- Represented a national bank against a large insurance company in a construction lawsuit involving a Texas bank. The resulting trial was the longest civil jury trial in Bexar County history and resulted in a multimillion-dollar jury verdict and judgment in favor of Mr. Stewart’s client.
- Lead attorney in a case involving representation of a Texas land developer in litigation stemming from the renovation of a prominent shopping center located in the Galleria area.
- Represented an engineering company against a Sudanese construction company in a lawsuit involving the construction of a large oil refinery. The jury awarded a multi-million dollar verdict to Mr. Stewart’s clients.
- Obtained a summary judgment ruling on behalf of a well-known Houston home developer who was a defendant in a lawsuit where the plaintiffs alleged the developer was responsible for damages caused by an active fault in the subdivision. The summary judgment ruling was later affirmed by the court of appeals.
- Represented a major telecommunications company in defense of a wrongful death suit involving multiple deaths. The case resulted in a jury verdict which was dramatically less than the pretrial settlement offer made by plaintiffs.
